Teenage
Mutant Ninja Turtles, or formally the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (and in some
Latin American countries Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Teenage Mutant, Ninja
Turtles or just Tortuninjas), also abbreviated as TMNT (short for Teenage
Mutant Ninja Turtles, title), are a multiverse four brothers fictitious,
anthropomorphic turtles, as you can guess from the name, are also teenagers,
mutants and ninjas. Each of the turtles is named in honor of famous Italian
Renaissance artists: Leonardo (Leonardo da Vinci) - blue, Raphael (Rafael
Sanzio) - red, Michelangelo (Michelangelo Buonarroti) - Orange Donatello
(Donatello) - violet, even his master, Splinter, carries the nickname of an
important painter of the Quattrocento, (Giovanni di Ser Giovanni, called
"Scheggia", ie "Splinter". the TNMA often live in the
sewers of New York, but have also lived in other places, such as farm
grandmother O'Neil April in Northampton, Massachusetts, old subway stations and
April O'Neil's apartment. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have inspired the name
of a prehistoric turtle that has horns and a tail full of peaks. the scientists
placed the animal in a new genus, ninjemys, which means "ninja
turtle".
On
October 21, 2009, it was announced that Viacom had bought the rights of the
Ninja Turtles franchise, owned by Mirage Studios. The new plans include
creating a new animated in CGI format Ninja Turtles series, and a new film in
real image Ninja Turtles which was produced by Nickelodeon in association with
Paramount Pictures premiered on August 7, 2014
Turtles
originated in a small black and white comic Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird
entitled "Eastman and Laird's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." It was
released in 1984 and published by Mirage Studios. a feeling of the night became
morning among independent comics. The origin of the cartoon is a parody and a
tribute to the work of Frank Miller. The cover of the first edition is very
similar to Frank Miller's Ronin, history and origin of turtles involves the
same origin as the Daredevil. The enemies of turtles, the Foot Clan, may also
have been inspired by another creation of Miller, The Hand (Hand), a group of
ninja murderers.
The
first edition was announced before publication in a guide of comics, which got
much attention from fans of comics, then, that the first print run of 3,000
copies was sold immediately, and quickly its commercial value increased. It was
assumed that the comic would be just a parody of one year, but the sales
success led to a series of continuations.
The
comic book format was larger than the regular cartoons, and remained in this
size for the first editions. The success also led to increased popularity of
comics in black and white mid-80s, when other small publishing houses tried to
also draw parodies of anthropomorphic animals expecting quick profits. Most of
them managed to sell to comic book stores in large quantities, but could not be
sold to readers, which led to a collapse of comic sales during 1986-1987.
Over
the years TMNT comics have inspired four separate series and several
alternative histories, culminating in TMNT: Volume 4 in black and white, which began
publication in 2001 and continues to date 2005; however, it suffers from poor
sales and very little advertising.
Archie
comics publishing rights possessed of comics based on the animated series 1987.
These comic adventures, TMNT Adventures, stopped following the history of
television after issue No. 5 and developed their own arguments of history .
While the 1987 TV series had much more humor, the embodiment of Archie comics
were darker, more violent and explored topics such as death, religious conflict
and environmental problems issues. The Archie comic book series was published
between 1988 and 1995.
Image
Comics also released a series of action of the ninja turtle, known as Volume 3,
after the disappearance of Volume 2 and before the release of Volume 4. Volume
3 was had in great aversion by fans, largely by the mutilation of the main
characters (Leonardo lost an arm and Rafael lost an eye). It has brought
continuity and is not canon. Volume 2, published again by Mirage, showed Baxter
Stockman in a robotic body as the main villain and left in 13 full color
editions.
Dan
Berger drew and wrote a daily comic strip, it was published until its
cancellation in December 1996. At the height of its popularity, was published
in over 250 newspapers around the world.
From
June to December 2003, it was published a monthly cartoon by Dreamwave
Productions, inspired by the animated series 2003, until it was canceled due to
low sales. It was written by Peter David and illustrated by LeSean Thomas and
in the first three editions, which were the only based on the TV series, the
perspective of April O'Neil, Baxter Stockman and Casey Jones instead showed
point view of the same turtles.
Currently
the publisher IDW Publishing took the rights of comics and currently publishes
its series and has created a spin-off focusing on some of the secondary
characters.
