The safari is an expedition or trip that takes place in some regions of Africa. According to the RAE, the safari is made for more or photographic tour "some regions of Africa" or "other territories" hunting.

The word safari means journey in Swahili, the lingua franca of East-Central Africa. Its root is the Arabic voice Safar (سفر) of equivalent meaning which is Swahili nominalized with termination i as is characteristic of that language (eg. The bank = Banki). It has been assimilated by all adjacent languages and commonly extended its meaning in much of the world.2
